Nature Nuts

The Woodland Hide

Nature Nuts Woodland hide has been a great success over the past years with over 85% of visitors seeing at least one Pine Marten. Other brilliant sightings have been upwards of 10 Jays at one time, numerous Red Squirrels, Brambling, a family of 5 woodpeckers, Sparrowhawks, Tawny Owls and so much more beside. In fact we have seen over 60 species visit the hide area since we opened in April 2017, quite astonishing to be honest.

This hide is set in a lovely spot of Highland Perthshire. The hide itself offers the opportunity to see Red Squirrels, Jays, a variety of small birds such as tits, robins, wrens, crossbills, brambling, chaffinches etc, voles and mice, Fallow and Roe deer. If you are very lucky you may just get an early viewing of a Pine Marten or a sparrowhawk. The hide has a variety of perches and subtle photographic areas. There is a mirror pool that offers something different plus moss clad trees that contrast beautifully with the myriad of wildlife creatures.

The hide is available from 0600 - 2300 for £70 for a single occupancy and £30pp thereafter  up to a max of 4. The hide fits 4 but ideally is better with fewer numbers so as not to spook the beasties and birds.

If it gets dark and you wish to stay on to see if a marten or two turn up, you are more than welcome as I can set up my lighting system. The martens aren't phased with the artificial lighting and some decent images can be acheived but the joy is actually seeing these creatures, I still get a buzz everytime I see these creatures even after 6 or 7 years watching them :-) .
