Pine Martens at the hide
To say the hide is showing well just now is a bit of an understatement. We still have the usual birds showing up, including the jays and the squirrels have been regular visitors as well. However, the big draw just now are the Pine Marten. I sat up at the hide one evening and had a visit from 6 different animals in the space of an hour which is awesome. All my recent have thrown up at least one marten but usually a minimum of 3 all before 2000hrs. Staying a wee bit later usually amounts in further visits and more often than not, a couple of kits together then a young female with a single kit popping in. Seeing a single marten is awesome but witnessing more than one at the same time is very special. The lighting has been a bit of a trial and error to say the least but the feedback on the images that either I or my guests have achieved has been very positive so far. Tweaks are inevitable but a constant goal of mine is to improve the hide as much as possible to ensure my visitors have a memorable visit.
